The tilt of the tower is caused by some mistake in the construction. It gradually increased. It has been corrected in the 20th and the 21th century. Before the restoration work between 1990-2001 the tower's been leaned at an angle of 5.5 degrees. It now leans at 3.9 degrees.

All together - the Tower of Pisa, the Cathedral and the Baptistry are part of Piazza del Duomo
The so called Tower of Pisa, the bell, that's in fact the Campanile.
The Cathedral is the Duomo.
So, the Duomo/ The Cathedral/, The Campanile, The Baptistry and the Camposanto are the four great religious edifices that form the Piazza del Duomo.
